About the 2020 Delta Leadership Network Annual Conference
The Delta Leadership Network (DLN) is hosting its Annual Conference, September 22-24, 2020 at the Sheraton Memphis Downtown. The DLN is an organization of more than 550 alumni of the Delta Leadership Institute who represent the eight states within the Delta Regional Authority’s footprint: Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. These alumni are highly engaged and use their Delta Leadership Institute experience to affect positive change in their communities. We are excited about the 2020 DLN Annual Conference and the opportunity to partner with to strengthen workforce competitiveness in the Delta region.
This year’s conference will focus on partnership development opportunities that are both local and regional in the DRA footprint. Delivery of a world-class event for persons representing local development districts and economic development organizations, elected officials at local, state, and regional levels, small business owners, and community leaders in agricultural, health care, education, and faith-based communities.
DLN members rely on the Network to share today’s best approaches to growing their local economy and improving the communities and lives of people in the Mississippi Delta and Alabama Black Belt. Graduates of the program often describe the training and opportunity to engage with alumni as life-changing. The annual conference delivers important continuing education and the opportunity to maintain and grow professional networks.
Regional Advisory Council
The Delta Leadership Network’s members are led by an elected volunteer Regional Advisory Council, which includes two members from each state and a council chair, chosen from the past year’s RAC to lead the Council. The RAC supports DLI staff in planning and executing the DLN Annual Conference each year and drive state meetings and activities throughout the year that support DLN’s mission of continuing education, information sharing, and collaboration beyond the DLI experience. RAC state representatives are important points of contact for DLN members in their state to learn about DLI and DLN activities.
